The design of these sheds are based on our successful free range rearing operation and we have had many satisfied free range & organic “tunnel shed” purchasers throughout New Zealand, with incredible feedback.

We are happy to discuss alterations to suit your specific requirements whether it be rearing, fattening or laying poultry.

Main shed construction is steel – eliminating bugs/mites living within the tunnel shed.
Easy clean, good air circulation and predator proof.
Square galvanised wire mesh floor/Nest Box padding – no STRAW or SAWDUST (bringing in/encouraging bugs & germs).

Large Tunnel Laying Shed
Length - 8m, Width - 4m, Height - 1.6m

Shed and perches will accommodate 250 or less laying hens.

Features:

Nest Boxes accessed from outside the shed*.

Nest boxes sloped downwards (egg roll away) to allow for clean eggs and easy collection.

Commercial quality “roll away” nestbox padding - reducing breakages & “egg eating”.

4 removable perches – Each 8m long - for easy cleaning
Polystyrene to protect against cold and hot temps - reduces temperature peaks by approximately 3.5 degrees.

Zincalume cladding/Colour Steel option.
Front of shed has a stable-style door made of plywood with a walk ramp attached. There is a hen sized entrance on the bottom door and a peep hole in the top door.

All 3 doors can be shut securely for security or for introducing & removing stock.

Both stable doors open for human entry.

The back of the shed is a combination of Zincalume and fibrolite (required daylight source for laying hens).

Getting to your site

*Due to max. trucking widths, the large large tunnel sheds arrive with nest boxes unattached. In most situations Heslip’s Hatcheries will be onsite to re-assemble the net boxes. Heslip’s Hatcheries reserve the right to remove this option from the purchaser depending on purchasers location.

All sheds are prominently completed on our site.

A Hi-Ab is used to on and off-load the sheds in most situations.

Heslip’s Hatcheries reserve the right to instruct the purchaser to arrange transport.
